RareConnect™ is an online and multilingual social network for patients and families to connect with one another to support and share vital experiences on aspects of living with a rare disease as well as for rare disease advocates to connect and work together. The job is remote although the candidate has to live in Canada and willing to travel to Ottawa occasionally when the pandemic is over.
We’re looking for someone who will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content and the platform to help support families living with rare diseases. The duties will also include sharing content to raise awareness, supporting our volunteer moderators, and liaising with the RareConnect developers for platform development.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with demonstrable community management experience, willing to learn more about the rare disease (RD) community.
Essential experience:
Previous work experience in managing (health) online communities or performing community engagement is a must
Experience in community moderation, community policy, and community guidelines development
Understanding of key community metrics
Demonstrated success in growth key community metrics

RareConnect is a joint initiative of EURORDIS-Rare Diseases Europe and Care4Rare Canada, a consortium of hospitals, physicians and researchers across Canada. CHEO is one of the leading hospitals of this network. In 2018, the ownership of RareConnect was transferred from EURORDIS to CHEO so we could take the platform to a new level by creating RareConnect MyStudies, a paralel platform for researchers studying rare diseases. EURORDIS participates in the day-to-day management of the community and in the governance committee.
We’re looking for an Online Community Manager at NEAR.
