Migrate Higher Logic discussions to SharePoint

(Jason M. Turner) #1

Does anyone have experience/advise migrating Higher Logic discussions/forums to SharePoint? Is this even possible?

(Jay Pfaffman) #2

Hi, Jason. I don’t know about moving to SharePoint, but I’ve done a Higher Logic to Discourse import. You can read my general notes about imports here: https://www.literatecomputing.com/discourse-migration/.

If you’re looking for a forum, I think that Discourse would be the clear winner. If you’re interested in a document storage platform, then Discourse probably isn’t a good fit.

Curious, why are you leaving HigherLogic @jason_m_turner ?

Awesome notes, thanks @Jay_Pfaffman

Thanks Jay, I will take a look. I discovered through Higher Logic support they do have an export features. I need to see if/how I can get the data into SharePoint.

@richard_millington, from what I am told it comes down to value. Based on how my company is using Higher Logic today we can better (and at significant cost savings) meet the needs of our small community using MS 365 tools like Teams, SharePoint and Planner. This is for a select community of fewer than 100 members.

ah, i see, for just 100 members that does make sense.
