What is your expectation for your community’s engagement and activity ratios? Do those expectations changes as your group grows? We are trying to set up realistic benchmarks for our community.
This is a tricky question to answer because it really varies by what type of community you’re working on, your stage of the lifecycle, and topic you’re building a community within.
It also depends what you mean by engagement/activity ratios, what precise ratios are you looking at here?
We have a facebook group within the fitness and health space. We have a lot of lurkers and I’d say we’re in the mitosis stage.
By engagement I mean the optimal amount of comments, likes (if the platform permits), and shares relative to the total amount of posts in the community for a given period of time.
By Activity I mean the optimal amount of posts, comments, likes, and shares relative to the total amount of members in the community for a given period of time.
In your experience what are ideal benchmarks for these metrics?
